World Relief

 www.worldrelief.org

About this ministry: World Relief is an evangelical refugee resettling agency. The Durham office works mainly with refugees from Burma, Bhutan, Iraq, and Vietnam who have fled their country to save their lives. They expect to help resettle 200 refugees this year alone.  World Relief offers love, support, resources and training in practical skills to reach out to the nations living in our own neighborhoods.

Volunteer opportunities: When a refugee first enters the US, they have little more than a small sum of money and the support of their resettling agency.  Help by providing meals, assisting with transportation to doctor's appointments or job interviews, teaching English, or a variety of other ways.  But above all, build relationships with these people that are foreign to the States, but familiar to and loved by Christ.

Current donation needs: blankets, coats, bikes, and cars.

Volunteer & Church Relations Coordinator: Tim McGee
