Once a month on Tuesday nights, from 6:30 - 8:30pm at the Brier Creek Campus.

May 15th 6:30-8:30, main session "Discipleship: Leading Others in Gospel Growth" by Spence Shelton.

The topic is "Discipleship: Leading Others in Gospel Growth." May 15th is the last Leadership Forum of Spring 2012, so don't miss a chance to connect with other leaders before the summer starts. For our main session, Small Groups Pastor Spence Shelton will share his expertise on personal discipleship. He'll walk us through the method, the plan, the tool, and the vision for meeting and helping someone else grow in Christ. For this evening, the main session will be shorter and action-packed. The second-hour cohorts will start earlier and give more time for your leaders to finish the semester well. Cohorts include Worship and the Arts, Church Planting, Small Groups, and Preparing for Marriage. If you've been involved with one of these cohorts, or you are a small group leader who hasn't yet come to an EQUIP: Leadership Forum, then you won't want to miss attending this one. Please RSVP for this event (even if you've RSVPed to past Forums, we want to make sure we have a seat for YOU!). Childcare is open to those who request it by May 13th at Midnight.

Why do we have these monthly events? The Summit Church places a high premium on leadership development.  If we are going to realize our goal of planting 1,000 churches in 40 years, and continue growing as a local congregation, we will be raising up many leaders from our own church.  Beginning this January, the directional elders and ministry heads from all areas of Summit will meet together once a month to train and develop our current and future leaders.

Want some stats? Once a month on a Tuesday night, from 6:30 - 8:30pm, we will gather at the Brier Creek Campus.  The first hour will feature a main session on leadership. The second hour will feature several different cohorts for small group leaders, counselors, leaders in training, future church-planters, missionaries, volunteers, and other leaders in our congregation.

What are the benefits for attending? The benefits are great!  First, every leader in our church will benefit from more direct discipleship by Pastor J.D. Second, we will have all the leaders in our church together at the same time frequently.  The opportunities for vision-casting and problem-solving in an environment like this will be tremendous.  Third, we will be able to streamline our schedules and discipleship efforts.  At first, this may feel like just another church event to add to the calendar.  But you will find that the end result will be fewer meetings on everyone's calendar!

Who can attend? Everyone is welcome, so even if you aren't currently serving at Summit, come and bring others.  There will be lots of opportunity to get plugged in through these events.  Don't miss this great opportunity to be trained and discipled by the great leaders that Summit has assembled!
