Local Outreach
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind... And... Love your neighbor as yourself." Matthew 22:37
The local outreach ministry of the Summit Church is based on the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ. In response to God’s love for us and for others, we desire to serve our neighbors so that they also might know Him. We want our words and deeds to point people to our God, "a father to the fatherless" and "a defender of widows" who "sets the lonely in families" and "leads forth the prisoners with singing." (Ps 68:5-6a) It is our prayer that our community will be radically transformed by the gospel as we allow Him to radically transform us.
"The 5 Areas"
We believe God is leading the Summit to intentionally and faithfully bless and serve these 5 areas of our society in particular:
- The homeless
- Orphans and foster children
- Prisoners
- Unwed mothers/widows
- High school dropouts/at risk students
These areas are not exclusive, but when looking at both their preventative and redemptive aspects, they cover a broad spectrum of people. For example, “homeless” could include those on the verge of eviction, refugees looking for a place to live, and those who are being placed into a home through Habitat for Humanity.
Check Get Involved for opportunities to minister in these 5 areas.
