Mission isn’t a special assignment God gives to a few “green beret” Christians - it’s the calling of every disciple. Being a disciple means that you evaluate your gifts, skills, and resources in light of how they can best be used to advance God’s mission. That mission begins right here in Raleigh-Durham, but it extends to the ends of the earth. God has called us to make disciples of all nations.
At the Summit, one of the primary ways we do this is by planting churches. We believe THE most beneficial thing for every community is a local church, because only a local church can meet both the spiritual AND physical needs of a community. By planting churches around the world, we will see the gospel advance, lives changed, and entire communities transformed. Our goal is to plant 1000 churches by 2050.
Without God going before us, we won’t succeed. When we pray, we are believing God for the things he has promised. One of things God has promised is to build his church (Matt 16:18; Acts 1:8). By praying for our missionaries around the world, we unlock the power of God for his mission.

Missions, like anything, costs money. We want to invite you to invest in what God is doing around the world. The Summit’s commitment to seeing the gospel proclaimed, Jesus made famous, and Christ’s church planted is clearly supported by our church’s budget. Over 15% of our annual operating budget is focused on supporting the missionaries and church planters sent out from our church, supporting the churches we’ve planted, equipping our church to Love Our World, and investing in partnerships that expand the mission. So, when you give your tithes and offering here at Summit, you give to the mission of God.

We encourage everyone at the Summit to go on a short-term trip once a year. A 1-2 week trip is a great way to give some of your time to the nations, and support our missionaries. Every year we send dozens of Summit people on 20+ different trips around the globe.
