Ways to Give

For your convenience, we have provided several different ways for you to give. Each method allows for God’s work to be accomplished as you are faithful to give back. Find one that’s right for you.

All online giving can now be made through The City! By November 1, 2015, all recurring gifts previously made through our former online giving platform, should be transferred to The City. All online giving can now be made through an updated, user-friendly interface.

How Should I Give?

Setting up an Electronic Bank Transfer is the most effective best way to maximize your giving. As you will see below, an Electronic Bank Transfer is the cheapest method to process gifts for the Summit and maximizes the reach of your gift.

For every $100 you give:

  • Electronic Bank Transfer costs us 25 cents in processing fees (Total Giving: $99.75)
  • Debit Card charges 1.75% of your total transaction, plus 30 cents (Total Giving: $97.95)
  • Credit Card charges 2.5% of your total transaction, plus 30 cents (Total Giving: $97.20)
    • AMEX has an even higher rate and would net only $96.20

As you can imagine, these fees add up when multiplied by greater amounts and over hundreds of gifts a month.

There are several benefits to online giving for both you and The Summit Church:

Faithfully Honoring God
When you sign up to give online you are deciding in advance to faithfully give. The Bible teaches that we are to honor God with the "first fruits" of our labor (Proverbs 3:9). By setting up a recurring contribution that is scheduled to come out of your account on the day you specify, you can ensure that your first fruits are faithfully given back to God. (1 Corinthians 16:1-2)

You won’t have to remember whether you gave this month or send in an offering by mail when you’re on a trip.

We utilize an encrypted secure website for our giving portal to ensure protection of your sensitive personal information and giving history.

You have the ability to quickly see your online giving history directly through our giving portal instead of having to contact our Finance Department for a personalized report.

Online Giving Privacy Policies
Your information is held securely in our secure servers. Your information will remain private and will never be given away to third parties, other than to process your scheduled contributions. You can schedule new contributions at any time and can modify or cancel those contributions at any time prior to the date they are scheduled. If you have any problems or questions related to this, please contact us at

Appreciated marketable securities such as stocks, mutual funds, or bonds are a great way to maximize your giving because you receive an immediate income tax deduction for the full fair market value of your securities. In addition, you pay no capital gains tax on the difference between your cost and the fair market value. We will gladly accept these types of gifts.

How to Give:

  • If you'd like to give a stock, mutual fund, or bond gift please follow the instructions listed here.
  • If you've previously given a marketable security to the Summit through NCF and would like to give another gift, to expedite the process please contact Natalie Taylor at NCF at or 919.438.0350.
  • If you are interested in giving restricted securities, stock options, or matching gifts from your employer please contact Natalie Taylor at NCF at or 919.438.0350.

To improve efficiency, the Summit has partnered with the National Christian Foundation (NCF) to process gifts of marketable securities such as stocks, mutual funds, or bonds directly.

Auto Bill Pay

Many banks offer their customers the ability to have funds automatically drafted from an account in order to be mailed to a recipient (such as a church) on a recurring basis. Please contact your personal bank if you wish to pursue this option to set up The Summit Church as a new payee.

Weekend Services

Every weekend we offer an opportunity for you to offer your gift by placing it in the offering bucket during our worship service. For your convenience, offering envelopes are available for your gift of cash. If you would like offering envelopes please contact our finance department at or call 919.383.7100.

By Mail

You can mail your gift in cash or a check (made payable to "The Summit Church") at any time. Please send it to the following address:

Real Estate/Vehicle/Other Assets

If you’d like to discuss a possible gift of real estate, a vehicle, a trust or retirement account, credit card rewards point or airline miles, or another unique gift, please contact our pastor of stewardship and generosity, Blair Graham, at or 919.383.7100.

The ministry of The Summit Church is funded by God's provision through the tithes and offerings of faithful Summit members and attenders. The Summit works very hard to ensure we are doing everything possible to properly manage the financial resources that God has entrusted to us. We honor God's provision by pursuing wise and faithful stewardship, ethical business practices, and full accountability so that the financial integrity of the Summit remains beyond reproach.

Our mission is facilitated through our system of internal controls over financial reporting and our internal budgeting and reporting processes. We also voluntarily invest in an annual audit performed by an independent, certified public accounting firm.

Members of The Summit Church may request a copy of our most recent budget or ask general questions about our financial practices at any time by contacting us at
